Summer Program at Trinity College, Ireland

I. Program of Study:

  • The program will consist of four two-credit courses: The Irish Legal System, Irish Constitutional Law, Equal Protection and Juvenile Law.
  • Classes begin on June 17,1996 and are completed July 23, 1996.
  • Students are allowed to take up to six credits.
  • Visits will be made to the Irish Supreme Court, the High Court, the Legislature and other points of interest.

II. The Faculty:

All professors are full-time professors at their home institutions. Quinnipiac faculty are Professors Robert Farrell (Director of the Program) and Gregory Loken. Trinity faculty are Professors Eoin O'Dell and Gerry Whyte.

III. Tuition and Housing:

The tuition rate is $400 per credit; students must take at least six credits in the summer in order to qualify for financial aid. Accommodations are available on the Trinity Campus for approximately 20 pounds per night (about $32). Rooms with a private shower and toilets are available at an additional supplemental charge.

I V. Academic Information:

Students who have satisfactorily completed one year of full- time or part-time study at an ABA accredited law school, and are in good academic standing. Students participating in the program are responsible for securing approval from. their own law school to transfer credit.

V. Travel:

Students are responsible for securing their own travel arrangements between Dublin and the United States, as well as their housing arrangements in Dublin.
