Iowa calls divorce "dissolution of marriage." Self-represented parties must use the official Chapter 17 forms (Iowa Court Rule 17.1), which are free at iowacourts.gov. If your spouse will not agree, this is not your packet.
The same 90-day waiting period applies (Iowa Code 598.19). Cases with minor children add the official Agreed Parenting Plan (Form 229), which both spouses sign to set legal custody and physical care, and child support set under the Iowa Child Support Guidelines (Iowa Court Rules ch. 9) using the Child Support Guidelines Worksheet (ch. 9 Form 1), which must be filed before any support order (Rule 9.10).
