This Texas-specific rental application helps landlords and property managers screen prospective tenants before signing a residential lease. It collects applicant identity and contact details, rental history, credit-history questions, employment and income information, references, vehicle and pet details, and closes with a signed authorization for background verification.

Texas tenant selection criteria rule

Texas Property Code § 92.3515 requires a landlord who charges an application fee to make printed tenant selection criteria available to the applicant and to obtain a signed acknowledgment of that notice. If the landlord rejects an applicant without making the notice available, the application fee and any application deposit must be returned. This form builds the acknowledgment in, using a statement equivalent to the statutory model text.
